We are seeking a Chapter Lead for our Platform Services Organization (PSO), which operates as an Agile 'Tribe' within our Tech Platform group. The primary goal of PSO is to deliver compute, storage, connectivity, and database services to our application delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
Team/Chapter Leadership (50% of your role)
- Lead a team of 8-12 infrastructure engineers focused on Openshift/Kubernetes, Redhat Linux, virtualization technologies, storage solutions, and system backups.
- Oversee recruitment, resource allocation, objective setting, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure the application of best practices and current trends in technology and DevOps methodologies.
- Stay informed about emerging trends through continuous education, conferences, and literature.
- Foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development among team members.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
- Encourage a positive feedback culture within the team.
Virtualization Engineering (50% of your role)
- Collaborate with the Product Owner and squad members to design, implement, test, and maintain our VMware platform.
- Act as a hands-on contributor, leveraging your technical expertise to deliver infrastructure as a service to internal clients.
- Assist in orchestrating the engineering of underlying platforms, automation, and service delivery.
- Participate in on-call rotations to address critical service incidents and ensure timely restoration of services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) - Essential.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing VMware infrastructure - Essential.
- Hands-on expertise with VMware products (including ESXi 7.0 and newer, Aria Operations, Aria Operations of Logs, and Aria Automation) - Essential.
- Experience in infrastructure performance tuning at the hypervisor level, including debugging and troubleshooting - Essential.
- Proficient in network troubleshooting, particularly with IPv4 - Essential.
- Strong knowledge of PowerShell and the PowerCli library - Essential.
- Familiarity with block storage and FC SAN - Nice to have.
- Basic Linux skills - Nice to have.
- Experience with HPE ProLiant (iLO, HPE OneView) - Nice to have.
- Familiarity with DevOps/IAC tools such as Terraform and Ansible - Nice to have.
- Relevant industry certifications.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of responding to change effectively.
