Job Description

The International Criminal Court is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Head of Suspects-at-Large Unit. This role is a critical component of the Court's efforts to bring justice to victims of international crimes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Suspects-at-Large Unit, ensuring the effective execution of arrest warrants and the surrender of suspects.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the arrest of suspects at large, collecting information on their whereabouts and other relevant data.
  • Coordinate actions with the Office of the Prosecutor and advise the Chamber on possible courses of action in this area.
  • Represent the Registry in meetings and conferences, undertaking speaking engagements and making presentations to groups.
  • Prepare draft legal and technical advice and strategies for approval by the Chief of Section and stakeholders outside of the Section.
Requirements
  • Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience in external or international relations cooperation, negotiation, and/or international criminal justice.
  • Experience in managerial positions in international organizations, supervising staff, and drafting and reviewing policies.
  • Excellent management and leadership skills, with the ability to balance interests and translate general strategic plans into concrete strategies and actions.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Working Conditions

The selected candidate will be subject to a process in accordance with ICC policy, including verification of the information provided in the personal history form and a criminal record check.

The Court reserves the right not to make any appointment to the vacancy, to make an appointment at a lower grade, or to make an appointment with a modified job description.
