Position Summary

As the Lead Analytical Chemistry Manager, you will be responsible for guiding three distinct teams (19 professionals in total) dedicated to the development of high-quality gas chromatographic systems. Your primary focus will be on effective people management, ensuring that your team members have the necessary support and resources to perform their tasks efficiently. Additionally, you will engage in hands-on problem-solving, leveraging your expertise in analytical chemistry and gas chromatography to address complex analytical challenges. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic leadership and vision to your direct reports, including coaching, development, and conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Analyzing and planning workforce utilization, spatial requirements, workflow, and equipment layout to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Estimating production process timelines, staffing needs, and associated costs to inform management decisions.
  • Applying relevant statistical methods in process development to ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Implementing process and product enhancements that positively influence production cycle times, costs, and quality.
Candidate Requirements

We are seeking candidates for the Lead Analytical Chemistry Manager position who meet the following criteria:

  • A higher education degree in analytical chemistry with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven technical analysis skills, encompassing statistical analysis, process improvement techniques, and quality assurance principles.
  • Familiarity with new product and process introduction methodologies and reliability standards.
  • Experience with LEAN principles is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in IFS or other Oracle-based ERP systems (preferred), along with intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Technical knowledge of laboratory equipment used in the petrochemical sector is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Dutch.
Employment Conditions
  • This is a long-term position, commencing with a one-year contract directly with the hiring organization.
  • The salary range is between €6000 and €6600 gross per month, based on full-time employment.
  • This is a full-time role (40 hours per week).
  • Standard working hours are during the day.
