Operations Director

Job Summary

A challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Univar Solutions Netherlands. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a large and busy Warehousing & Production Chemical Distribution facility. Your primary focus will be on delivering all site operational activity, covering warehousing, production, and quality control activities. You will also be responsible for managing safety and quality of service, which is driven through clear process, training, and competency management.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the team to deliver all site operational activity, covering warehousing, production, and quality control activities
- Manage safety and quality of service, which is driven through clear process, training, and competency management
- Expected to deliver a cost-effective operations and challenge/innovate for continuous improvement in all areas
- Ability to drive sustainable standards as the foundation for success at site
- Implement and maintain standard operating equipment, policies, procedures, methods, and systems within the facility with corporate guidance.
- Recommend new or improved policies, procedures, safety standards, methods, and equipment within the scope of his/her responsibilities.
- Recommend operations and organization, staffing, and assignments, in accordance with established policies.

Requirements

- College degree in a chemical field or equivalent business experience
- 3-5+ years of Operations/Distribution experience
- Safety Leadership with the ability to demonstrate clear safety management principles
- Ability to speak, read, and write both English and Dutch languages proficiently
- Experience in a structured continuous improvement program with previous experience of digitalisation in a warehouse environment
- Proven track record in production/warehouse leadership with excellent customer-centric approach
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret Profit and Loss spreadsheets.
- Must be able to work under company policies where experience and independent judgment are needed and establish and guide short and long-range plans.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills in coaching, motivation, and team building with all levels of people in the organization.
