Senior Manager Core Network Capacity Planning

Job PurposeThe Senior Manager Core Network Capacity Planning will lead a team of experts across Liberty Global, supporting our brands in Europe and beyond. This role will deliver critical services across our operating countries and Aorta network, ensuring the highest quality and reliability.
Key Accountabilities- Provide strategic leadership and management of Capacity Planning duties, ensuring timely delivery and exceeding customer expectations.
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements, driving capacity planning for LG Core network, in-country Core networks, and B2B Services.
- Complete hardware and software lifecycle management, including end-of-life and end-of-support planning.
- Govern IP address management for IPv4 and IPv6, driving IPv6 adoption across the organization.
- Lead regular data centre site audits, ensuring stringent access control and adherence to audit guidelines.
- Forecast, plan, and share monthly and quarterly reports on Core network, Data Centre, and IPAM & DNS performance.
- Ensure optimal usage of Liberty Global's networks and system investments.
- Schedule and drive capacity upgrades on platforms, minimizing downtime and ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Perform Operational Impact Assessments of capacity for residential and B2B customer portfolio upgrades and new initiatives.
- Define requirements for forecasting, reporting, and cost modeling for all planning domains.
- Prepare detailed capacity forecasts on network performance based on business growth and new product introductions.
- Lead quality initiatives to improve customer experience and drive process improvements.
- Proactively identify and execute initiatives supporting Core activities.
- Provide support for Warehouse/shipments process on purchased hardware.
- Lead strong partnerships with country operations to enhance customer experience, service quality, and efficiencies.
- Motivate and lead a Capacity Planning team, coaching and developing staff to enhance performance and provide a positive, team-based culture.
- Support creation of the strategic and tactical Core Roadmap.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Demonstrated ability in Telco or Cable Operator environments.
- International experience leading teams of diverse nationalities and cultural norms.
- Prior experience in IP, Optical, and Internet network capacity planning in large operations.
- Familiarity with OSI Model, Ethernet, IP, MPLS, BGP, IP peering, and RIPE/DNS.
- Familiarity with network tools such as Wandl/StableNet, Arbor, Zenoss, InfoBlox, and EasyIP.
- Possesses management skills, with emphasis on interpersonal and negotiating skills, and the ability to motivate staff.
- Shows the ability to delegate effectively, while maintaining full management control.
- Proven experience building and leading high-quality, results-focused teams within an organization undergoing high levels of structural and cultural change.
- Resilient and adaptable, able to work well under commercial and timeline pressure, and thrive on being given challenges and responsibility.
- Analytical skills to review, identify, and develop improvement plans.
