Job DescriptionThis Ph.D. position offers the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research in leukodystrophies, specifically focusing on vanishing white matter (VWM). As a researcher, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to investigate acute episodic neurological decline and develop new therapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify and validate animal-based models for VWM
- Conduct molecular and neuropathological studies to understand disease mechanisms
- Test FDA/EMA-approved drugs for inhibiting acute decline
- Familiarize yourself with VWM and underlying disease mechanisms
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Master's degree in Neurosciences or Biomedical Sciences
- A proven interest in neuroscientific research, particularly in neurological diseases or neuroinflammatory processes
- Art 9 qualification
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
As an employee of Amsterdam UMC Research BV, you can expect:
- A highly competitive salary scale OIO: €3,017 - €3,824 gross per month (depending on education and experience)
- A year-end bonus of 8.3%
