About the Role

TenneT is seeking a highly skilled Operating Engineer to join our team in Arnhem. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our offshore assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement technical strategies for operations and maintenance
  • Collaborate with the grid connection system management steering team to ensure the availability, budget, risk, and quality of our assets
  • Manage a portfolio of small projects, prioritizing work based on risk and financial considerations
  • Identify defects and non-compliances in project design and manage them under a warranty process with key vendors
  • Lead design efforts and manage project execution, ensuring timely preparation, execution, and administrative completion of maintenance activities
  • Monitor and resolve faults, coordinating required activities and providing technical support
  • Manage the timely preparation, execution, and administrative completion of maintenance activities and prioritize these activities on platform and cable systems
  • Ensure business requirements are met on larger projects
  • Provide technical input and lessons learned to enable future safe and efficient operations and maintenance of existing and new assets
  • Assist projects and operation readiness teams in specifying user requirements for new assets
  • Ensure operational requirements are incorporated in maintenance engineering asset and organizational planning
  • Develop and maintain efficient and effective maintenance plans, including job cards and work orders
  • Budget accountability for cyclic maintenance, repair, replacement, and investment measures
  • Manage and evaluate service contracts with key vendors, including tender documents, evaluation of bids, negotiations, and ensuring effective contract delivery
About You

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong background in offshore platforms and maintenance projects. You should have a degree in engineering and at least 5+ years of relevant work experience. You should also have knowledge of operational environments and maintenance management systems, as well as experience working in multi-cultural teams.

You should be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders, both onshore and offshore, and have a natural ability to share knowledge and experience to improve processes and assets. You should also be a team player, supporting the grid connection manager with scope of work, quality assurance, risk assessments, and needed interfacing on all levels and departments.

We are looking for someone who is solution-driven, calm, and collected, with good interpersonal communication skills, self-starter, motivated, highly disciplined, and a strong team player. You should also be proficient in planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, and reporting of maintenance and repair work across a range of disciplines.

Language skills in both Dutch and English, verbal and in writing, at Level B2 (confident) or higher are required. Relevant knowledge and experience in occupational safety and environmental protection are also desirable.
