About the Role

TenneT is seeking a highly skilled Operating Engineer to join our team in Arnhem. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our offshore assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement technical strategies for operations and maintenance
  • Collaborate with the grid connection system management steering team to ensure the availability, budget, risk, and quality of our assets
  • Manage a portfolio of small projects, prioritizing work based on risk and financial considerations
  • Identify defects and non-compliances in project design and manage them under a warranty process with key vendors
  • Lead design efforts and manage project execution, ensuring timely completion and administrative compliance
  • Monitor and resolve faults, coordinating required activities and providing technical support
  • Manage maintenance activities, prioritizing tasks on platform and cable systems to ensure business requirements are met
  • Provide technical input and lessons learned to enable safe and efficient operations and maintenance of existing and new assets
  • Assist projects and operation readiness teams in specifying user requirements for new assets
  • Ensure operational requirements are incorporated into maintenance engineering asset and organizational planning
  • Develop and implement efficient maintenance plans, including job cards and work orders
  • Manage and evaluate service contracts with key vendors, including tender documents, bid evaluation, negotiations, and contract delivery
Requirements
  • Engineering degree on BSc or MSc level with at least 5+ years of relevant work experience in offshore platforms or a related field
  • Relevant knowledge and experience working offshore, with a strong understanding of maintenance projects and the dynamics between different systems
  • Familiarity with operational environments and maintenance management systems, such as SAP, Maximo, or Ultimo (SAP experience is highly desired)
  • Established technical leader, able to effectively work in multicultural teams in both onshore and offshore domains
  • Experience in various electrical and process systems, including low-voltage switchboards, UPS systems, HVAC, fire alarm systems, and hazardous drains
  • Knowledge of offshore regulatory conditions and legislation, such as DNV, PED, SODM, and NEN
  • Natural ability to share knowledge and experience to improve processes and assets
  • Team player, supporting the grid connection manager with scope of work, quality assurance, risk assessments, and necessary interfacing on all levels and departments
  • Experience with operational readiness programs for new assets
  • Solution-driven in unexpected fault management situations to get asset components back up and running
  • Affinity with and operational usage skills with SCADA systems, such as Honeywell
  • Manage and evaluate service contracts with key vendors, including tender documents, bid evaluation, negotiations, and contract delivery
  • Understanding of the value of asset data and documentation to operations, ensuring maintenance information is recorded correctly to enable safe and efficient operation
  • Calm and collected, with good interpersonal communication skills, self-starter, motivated, highly disciplined, and a strong team player
  • Proficient in planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, and reporting of maintenance and repair work across a range of disciplines
  • Language skills in both Dutch and English, verbal and in writing, at Level B2 (confident) or higher
  • Relevant knowledge and experience in occupational safety and environmental protection
  • Driver's license
