Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Project Financial Manager to join our team at Fugro Netherlands Marine. Located in Nootdorp, The Netherlands, this role is responsible for the financial control of external and internal projects.

This position requires delivering accurate and timely analysis and reporting on project performance. As the interface between Project Management and Finance, you will translate operational events into financial results and collaborate with the Business Controller to achieve goals.

Your Responsibilities:
  • You will proactively initiate project budget preparation with Project Managers, challenge assumptions, and monitor actual versus budget performance.
  • You are responsible for timely delivery of project results for monthly and quarterly reports, including forecasts for financial communication and early warnings on financial risks.
  • You collect, analyze, and monitor relevant data to identify improvements and trends.
  • You develop and implement procedures and processes to increase efficiency, working closely with relevant teams.
  • You control and monitor project documents (finance, tax, compliance, purchasing, subcontracts, audits, insurance, project risks) and provide ad hoc reporting requests from management and stakeholders.
  • You participate in regular project audits, communicate results, and suggest improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • You have a BSc degree in a relevant field, such as Economics or Business Administration.
  • You possess 3+ years' experience in relevant projects, affinity with financial topics, and Microsoft Dynamics/Navision knowledge.
  • You excel in communication skills at all organizational levels (finance, business management, operations) and possess an excellent command of English (written and spoken).
  • You adapt to change, support others, and pursue necessary financial information to control projects persistently.
  • You are a team player, accurate, and have well-developed analytical skills.
