We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine & Ship Vetting Services professional to join our team at SGS Nederland.

Job Summary

As a Marine & Ship Vetting Services professional, you will be responsible for conducting online checks on vessels to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. You will work closely with clients to initiate and agree on ship inspections, evaluate and assess inspection reports, and provide expert advice on vessel safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily ship vetting requests for clients;
  • Initiate and agree on ship inspections with clients and vessel owners;
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal and external inspectors;
  • Evaluate and assess inspection reports;
  • Conduct vessel inspections for Port State Controls;
  • Assess the quality of classification societies, flag states, and operators;
  • Analyze maritime accidents and update vessel status.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in nautical studies, with experience as a Deck Officer or 1st Officer on oil, chemical, or gas tankers. You will also need excellent English language skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
