Background Information

We are SICS (Software Infrastructure and Computer Systems), the division responsible for delivering the software and hardware framework for our lithography systems, which are integral to ASML. The TWINSCAN system can be configured in various manners. Numerous functionalities provided by Computer Systems require data regarding the system's configuration to operate effectively. The Hardware Software Interface (HSI) serves as a specification of the hardware utilized to configure the software.

Your Assignment

During this internship, we aim to develop a prototype for the tooling (HDET – HSI Data Entry Tool) that can read, parse, write, import, and export the relevant hardware-related data (such as IP addresses and DHCP options) to the specified location. The HSI entry tool is designed to empower non-HSI domain experts to update the HSI content.

The prototype should fulfill the following criteria:

  • The prototype must be developed as a web service application (including front-end, back-end, and database).
  • The application should offer a simplified visualization of a system configuration by abstracting the software-specific syntax found across numerous interrelated files.
  • The application must include a back-end capable of importing and parsing hardware-related data from various formats (e.g., Excel files, XML, and databases).
  • The application should be user-friendly to assist individuals in updating or adding HSI data.

Your Profile

To be an ideal candidate for this internship, you should:

  • Be a bachelor or master student in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Have full-stack experience (knowledge of both front-end and back-end) and proficiency in Python.
  • Be familiar with REST APIs, Linux, and Single Page Application (SPA) frameworks. Knowledge of React or Angular is advantageous.
  • Have experience with Relational Databases, with knowledge of PostgreSQL being a plus.
  • Exhibit eagerness to learn, a structured approach, independence, and a proactive mindset.
  • Possess strong communication skills and be fluent in English, both spoken and written.

This internship is available for a minimum duration of 6 months, requiring a commitment of 5 days per week.
