Responsibilities of the Compliance and Legal Specialist - Banking Sector- Assist a newly established and expanding operation in executing regular compliance assessments, evaluations, and reporting aligned with the Annual Compliance Strategy;
- Offer legal insights regarding modifications in the regulatory landscape and supervisory expectations;
- Advise on various compliance issues including Financial Economic Crime, Market Misconduct, and Code of Conduct;
- Conduct routine updates of the Systematic Integrity Risk Assessment and the compliance framework;
- Deliver training and second line of defense support on various compliance topics;
- Perform periodic compliance evaluations and reporting in accordance with the Annual Compliance Strategy;
- Establish and maintain the regulatory function ensuring that, through your internal network of specialists, the bank retains insight and oversight on regulatory changes and supervisory matters;
- Assist in addressing inquiries from regulatory bodies, as well as periodic requests from the parent organization;
- Support the implementation of the bank's strategic objectives in a sound and controlled manner by proactively sharing your knowledge, experience, and insights.
To excel in this role, we require the following qualifications:
- Master's degree in Dutch Law (preferably in corporate law or financial supervision);
- 7 - 10 years of experience within the financial services sector;
- Legal and compliance expertise in Europe, ideally within the Netherlands;
- Strong understanding of and experience in financial market regulations and oversight;
- Willingness to further enhance knowledge of wholesale banking operations;
- Interest in working within and learning from an international and multicultural environment;
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Dutch is preferred.
