About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Obsolescence Management Specialist to join our team at Thales. As a key member of our Commercial team, you will be responsible for managing all issues related to Change, Obsolescence, and Opportunity Management on all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain frameworks to achieve the best outcome for our customer and Thales.
  • Manage your network, thinking from the customer's perspective until the engineering and commercial stakeholders.
  • Track, analyze, and provide solutions for issues based on internal alignment with Design Authorities, Engineering, Contract Management, Customer Management, and subcontractors.
  • Represent Thales in meetings with end users, customers, and subcontractors.
  • Update and maintain change requests for F126.
  • Identify and develop opportunities resulting from Changes.
  • Develop and maintain the obsolescence management plan F126 and define processes and activities for obsolescence management.
  • Manage all requirements and issues related to Obsolescence with requirement managers, TNL-internal teams, and subcontractors.
  • Manage the obsolescence management documentation using appropriate tools and Visual Management.
  • Deliver reports and KPIs.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience with project/engineering/commercial management of complex systems, preferably in the Naval domain.
  • Good knowledge of upcoming technology evolutions for hardware and software.
  • Good knowledge of Obsolescence Management standards and methods.
  • Good knowledge of Change Management/Configuration Management standards, process, methods, and tools, preferably in projects with governmental customers.
  • Good knowledge of opportunity management in Change Management environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to work with our customers and end users and to act in different teams.
  • Leadership experience and Lean Thinking.
  • High level of creativity, initiative, pragmatism, and persuasiveness.
  • High Level negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of Thales processes.
  • Language proficiency: German (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) European language level: C2/C1, English at level C1/B2, Dutch welcome.
  • Operating in an international environment.
