Our projects are Engineered to Order (ETO), involving us throughout the project lifecycle, from commercial phase to commissioning, delivery, and warranty. This requires a high level of complexity and stakeholder management.

The Role of Technical Specialist - Warranty

As a Technical Specialist - Warranty, you will be involved in solving complex technical issues that arise during the warranty period. You will act as a technical source of information for colleagues within OSV, conducting root cause analyses to resolve issues and contribute to the continuous improvement of products, production, and services. Your focus will be on standardizing systems and components, contributing to Damen's platform strategy and providing a competitive edge during the tender and execution phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collecting, managing, and solving complex technical issues raised from warranty claims;
  • Collecting, maintaining, and spreading feedback about products and processes to improve products and services;
  • Collating and processing product feedback from within the division and initiating improvements;
  • Assessing or co-creating technical specifications, drawings, calculations, methodology, and protocols during the commercial phase;
  • Participating in design reviews to monitor quality;
  • Identifying potential risks during the commercial phase and formulating proposals to mitigate these risks;
  • Guiding engineers in all phases in a consultative manner;
  • Identifying, creating, and implementing possibilities to standardize systems, materials, components, and tooling in consultation with internal stakeholders;
Requirements
  • A higher vocational or academic level of thinking in the field of Mechanical engineering or equivalent;
  • A higher knowledge in the field of chemical corrosion;
  • At least 10 years of proven work experience in a similar role;
  • Recent experience with AutoCAD, PDM, and ERP systems;
  • A pragmatic approach to issues;
  • Decisiveness and flexibility;
  • A good command of the English language;
  • A result-oriented attitude with initiative;
