About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and pragmatic tax expert to join our Tax Compliance & Reporting team as a Tax Accountant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate tax returns and IFRS tax reporting for Aegon NV.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review annual corporate income tax returns for the Dutch fiscal unity to ensure timely filing with the Dutch Tax Authorities.
  • Perform quarterly IFRS reporting based on IAS 12 and disclosures for the consolidated annual accounts of Aegon NV.
  • Support internal stakeholders and respond to queries from the Dutch Tax Authorities.
  • Liaise with IFRS specialists and other finance colleagues to understand tax accounting changes and implications.
  • Identify and suggest improvements for tax return and IFRS tax reporting processes.
  • Prepare the annual Country-by-Country Report (CbCr) and Public Global Tax Report.
  • Support the Global Tax team on ad hoc tax strategy projects, tax modelling, and tax forecasting.
  • Maintain close relationships with finance and tax departments within Corporate Center, Asset Management, and outside the Netherlands.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and/or university-level education with over 8 years of experience in corporate income tax compliance.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with IFRS tax reporting in a multinational or big four office.
  • Excellent numerical skills and knowledge of IFRS tax accounting rules and Dutch tax law.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English.
