About this role
TNO is seeking a highly skilled Building Materials Sustainability Expert to join our team in Delft. As a key member of our Building Materials & Structures department, you will play a crucial role in developing and assessing sustainable building materials.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct research and development of innovative building materials with a focus on sustainability and circularity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate scientific knowledge with practical experience from the construction sector.
- Initiate and coordinate new projects, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach and strong connections with experts within TNO and beyond.
- Develop and maintain a network of experts in the field, including academics, industry partners, and government agencies.
- Communicate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant materials science discipline, such as civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related engineering or natural science degree.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of delivering projects and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Excellent knowledge of sustainable building materials, circular economy principles, and construction practices.
- Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in both written and spoken Dutch and English, with a good understanding of German.
