Role Overview
Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to become part of our team, focusing on large-scale pharmaceutical construction initiatives. This position is well-suited for a detail-oriented professional with outstanding communication and client engagement abilities.
As a seasoned Project Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for steering the implementation of essential project control methodologies, templates, and tools required to establish an agreed-upon baseline for both cost and schedule. Additionally, you will monitor performance against this baseline while incorporating the effects of risks, opportunities, and changes in a systematic manner.
- Proficient in conceptual estimating and planning, with experience guiding clients through various funding approval stages;
- Capable of generating and/or analyzing cost reports, monitoring Earned Value, and leading performance assessments;
- Understanding of procurement principles and ability to collaborate with procurement teams to comprehend contract requirements and total cost of work packages;
- Familiar with change management principles and able to lead an established change management process and workflow on behalf of the client;
- Competent in conducting preliminary risk evaluations, assisting clients at project initiation to ensure risks are accounted for in budget and schedule, while monitoring risks and assessing their quantitative impacts on project forecasts;
- Skilled in determining the appropriate level of cost and schedule contingency for the baseline master budget and schedule, while managing and tracking this contingency throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in Project Controls
- Proven track record in Project Controls, with a formal qualification in cost management or quantity surveying
- Expertise in Earned Value Management
- Proficient in Project Controls systems; full competence in Primavera is advantageous for many clients
- Strong understanding of Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation processes
- Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong problem-solving capabilities
- Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Experience in developing and embedding program control processes
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and be comfortable in client-facing roles.
