Role Overview

As the Distribution Resource Planner for our Specialty Plastics division in EMEA, you will serve as the key liaison among Sales, Customer Service, Warehousing, and Global Planning. Your primary objective is to ensure a seamless supply chain process by effectively balancing supply, inventory, and demand. You will actively engage with various stakeholders on all supply-related inquiries, including business partners such as Management, Demand Managers, Product Quality teams, Sales, Logistics, Customer Services, Manufacturing, and Supply Planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning: You will create and manage a 6-month rolling supply plan for imported products, executing essential analytics to achieve optimal demand and supply balance. You will support the Supply Manager in developing a 24-month supply plan and participate in the S&OP process, leading S&OE meetings and communicating summaries to stakeholders.
  • Inventory Management: You will oversee warehouse inventory planning for external warehouses, managing inventory levels and replenishment orders to meet established targets. You will also handle aged and blocked inventories, collaborating with manufacturing and product management to minimize business impact. Monthly reconciliations of inventory levels at third-party warehouses and consignment stocks will be part of your responsibilities, along with leading annual physical stock counts.
  • Project Coordination: You will facilitate problem-solving around customer inquiries and business processes, including product management, complaint resolution, and returned materials. Understanding business and product strategies for your product range will be essential. You will proactively identify improvement opportunities in processes, tools, and knowledge, optimizing shipment modes, loads, and packaging based on cost and inventory considerations.
  • Reporting: You will be responsible for effective and timely analysis and reporting, evaluating demand data and measuring forecast accuracy. Maintaining Safety Stock and Target Inventory numbers for the region while ensuring compliance with Corporate Standard Operating Procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements will be crucial.

Qualifications

This position requires strategic thinking coupled with methodical execution. You should have proven experience in Planning and Inventory, preferably within the process industry, along with strong analytical skills and proficiency in advanced Excel, SAP, and Advanced Planning Software (preferably OMP). A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related fields is required. APICS CPIM or a comparable certification is highly desirable.
