Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Controller to join our finance team at Fugro. As a Business Controller, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to be seen as a true financial business partner, assisting the company in achieving its mission and goals.

Our finance team provides Fugro management with timely, transparent, and meaningful management information and business insights to support fact-based decision-making. We ensure integer financial results that are compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements. We strive for world-class efficiency, leveraging one standardized IT landscape with transactional- and rule-based-accounting from Shared Service Centers.

In this varied role, you will work closely together with Group Control, Corporate Finance, and Regional Control.

Your Role

  • You will review projects, prepare forecasts and budgets in conjunction with project managers and entity directors, ensuring completeness of invoicing and closing of projects.
  • You will review and support FSSC with the month-end process and Tagetik load, and prepare the month-end management report.
  • You will control, guide, and process Capex items transferred from Fugro Innovation to other Fugro entities, ensuring timely and completeness of invoicing of time/hours among Fugro ICO parties.
  • You will support NPV calculations and preparation of business cases prior, during, and upon closing the projects.
  • You will assist with WBSO requests, ensuring compliance with subsidy requirements, and for audit, you will be the first point of contact for subsidy-related matters.
  • You will contribute to monthly Capex reporting (proposal, progress, and back-testing reporting).

Your Track Record

  • You have a bachelor's or master's degree in Finance & Control or a similar discipline, and multiple years of experience as a Business Analyst within an international environment.
  • You have experience as a business line, regional, and/or controller of an operating company, and a successful track record in leading (project) teams.
  • You have good accounting knowledge, both with IFRS and statutory accounting and tax requirements.
  • You take ownership and are a result-oriented person, always looking to improve and develop yourself further.
  • You hold a high level of integrity and have a strong organizational and analytical skillset.
  • You are an excellent communicator, influencer, and team player with excellent English language skills (both written and oral) who feels comfortable in an international and multi-stakeholder setting.
