We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student to join our research team at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. As a PhD student, you will be responsible for conducting research in the field of metabolomics, with a focus on developing new methods and techniques for studying metabolic pathways.
Job Description:The successful candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related field, and will be able to demonstrate a clear interest in metabolism and metabolomics. Previous experience in handling HPLC, MS, or NMR techniques is an asset, as is programming knowledge in R, Python, or MATLAB.
The PhD student will work closely with our team to develop and implement new metabolomics workflows, including sample preparation, data analysis, and interpretation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for contributing to the development of new research projects and collaborating with other researchers in the field.

We offer a challenging position in a socially engaged organisation, with a salary of € 2.872,00 (PhD) and maximum € 3.670,00 (PhD) gross per month in the fourth year, for a full-time employment. We also offer attractive fringe benefits and arrangements, including a full-time 38-hour working week, 8% holiday allowance, and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
