Job Title: Construction Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Engineer to join our team at Protea Maritime Connection. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the construction workforce to support a positive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide HSSE leadership and guidance to the construction workforce to support a positive safety culture.
  • Conduct and record daily Safety audits.
  • Verify that contractors are executing their work in full conformance and compliance with standards, plans, and designs.
  • Participate in constructability programs at formal reviews and during work pack reviews and observations made on site.
  • Bring knowledge and experience to the constructability process to maximize opportunity for construction safety, efficiency, or schedule benefit.
  • Review quality of work standards as well as compliance with design intent at all stages of construction.
  • Drive productivity, efficiency, and productive time through supporting and advising the EPC contractor.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong personal commitment and demonstrable record to health, safety, environmental, and regulatory performance.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience of construction supervision or management on major projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and technical expertise in mechanical and other construction disciplines.
  • Able to interact effectively with company and contractor personnel on location to get the job done.
  • Able to interact effectively with engineering staff, as well as equipment manufacturers and vendors to solve complex issues in a timely manner.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work both independently and as a good team player.
  • Computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in EXCEL, WORD, and PowerPoint.
