About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Construction Manager to lead our Civil Engineering team at Maersk's Rotterdam terminal. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of complex construction projects.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a civil engineering and/or construction project-related environment. A strong understanding of complex construction projects, including construction site management, supervision, and quality control, is essential. The role requires excellent communication skills, with a sufficient level of English necessary and Dutch a plus.

You will work closely with our Project Manager to develop the FEED design and ensure that the output delivered by consultants aligns with Standard Project requirements and project objectives. Your technical expertise will be invaluable in supporting the decision-making process on civil aspects of the project and providing cross-functional advice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively promote safety and assume a visible leadership role on the construction site.
  • Support the Project Manager with the development of the FEED design and the Project Employers requirements.
  • Provide technical support in the decision-making process on the civil aspects of the project.
  • Reviews the contractor execution plan, methods statements, and quality control plan.
  • Oversee the PMC activities regarding the site supervision, quality control.
  • Monitors the progress of the construction and review of 'As Built' Drawings.
  • Responsible for managing all changes to the civil scope, schedule, and budget.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5yr relevant experience in a civil engineering and/or construction project-related environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Civil Works contract, particularly involving design & build.
  • Experience within large-scale Port Infrastructure projects is required.
  • Understanding of complex construction projects specifically regarding construction site management, supervision & quality control of civil projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, where sufficient level of English is necessary, and Dutch is a plus.
