Job Description

As a Field Technician II with Zayo, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and testing of optical transmission systems, including fiber optic cables, routers, and switches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Maintenance: Perform installation and maintenance of optical transmission systems, including fiber optic cables, routers, and switches.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance of installed systems to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Network Construction: Assist in the construction of network infrastructure, including laying fiber optic cables and installing network hardware.
  • Customer Support: Provide excellent customer support to internal and external customers, including responding to requests and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in the field, and participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. telecommunications, engineering) preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a related field, preferably in telecommunications or a related industry.
  • Skills: Strong technical skills, including experience with fiber optic cables, routers, and switches; excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications (e.g. OSHA, First Aid/CPR) may be required.
