About the Role

Zayo is seeking a skilled Field Technician II to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and test fiber optic cables, ensuring high-quality connections and minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve network issues and optimize network performance.
  • Conduct site surveys to identify optimal locations for network infrastructure and perform necessary installations.
  • Work with contractors and vendors to ensure successful project completion and high-quality workmanship.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to prevent network outages and ensure smooth operations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in telecommunications, fiber optic installation, and network maintenance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fiber optic networks, electronics, and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including safety protocols and equipment manuals.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with customers, management, and peers.
