Civil Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at Maersk. As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the civil project packages are delivered in accordance with the design requirements and APMT's quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote safety and assume a visible leadership role on the construction site.
  • Support the Project Manager with the development of the FEED design and the Project Employers requirements.
  • Provide technical support in the decision-making process on the civil aspects of the project.
  • Review the contractor execution plan, methods statements, and quality control plan to ensure that the project is delivered in line with the company's safety standards.
  • Oversee the PMC activities regarding the site supervision, quality control, and ensure all aspects of the civil scope are delivered in accordance with the project specs.
  • Monitor the progress of the construction and review of 'As Built' Drawings.
  • Responsible for managing all changes to the civil scope, schedule, and budget.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a civil engineering and/or construction project-related environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Civil Works contract, particularly involving design & build; knowledge of FIDIC contacts has a preference.
  • Experience within large-scale Port Infrastructure projects is required.

Skills:

  • Understanding of complex construction projects specifically regarding construction site management, supervision, and quality control of civil projects.
  • Have a strong understanding of design and construction, built on a solid foundation of technical engineering skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, where sufficient level of English is necessary, and Dutch is a plus.
  • Driven, self-motivating, result-oriented.
  • High discipline – following through on actions and ensuring necessary documentation.
  • High quality awareness and ability to work with constant care.
