Role Summary

An experienced, strategic, diligent, ambitious, and proactive individual is required to manage risk for the middle distillates product set within the group's risk appetite and defined risk limits. This senior/intermediate level position requires the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a thoughtful approach to their role and its impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the middle distillates product trading capability to support liquidity for clients.
  • Manage market risk for the middle distillates product set within the group's risk appetite and defined risk limits while generating positive returns.
  • Collaborate with sales/broking functions to originate hedging solutions and structured transactions, with a cross-product selling mindset.
  • Collaborate with central operations functions to support the trading role, including operations and technology.
  • Strategize to increase P&L, requiring ongoing analysis of markets and products in the market.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's regulatory requirements under the appropriate regulatory body.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for the role, ensuring that all regulatory or company-determined parameters are complied with.
  • Role model for demonstrating the highest level of standards of integrity and conduct, reflecting Company Values.
  • At all times, comply with the FCA's Code of Conduct.
  • Carry out regulatory activities under the Marex Financial and MSIL trading books.
  • Liaise with clients in the US, UK, France, and Singapore.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in financial markets/economics. Supply chain and shipping may be considered.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in brokerage/sales trading with a direct customer relationship.
  • Proactive mindset in keeping up to date with market research and incorporating it into the role efficiently.
  • Analytical skills, identifying opportunities and risks in a quick and decisive manner.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the financial service markets and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
  • Experience in operating on electronic market-making infrastructure.
