Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Rotterdam, NL

Role Overview:

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you play a pivotal role in the integration of Sales, customer needs, Logistics, and workshop operations. Your involvement spans from initial design concepts to the final execution of customized systems tailored for our clients. This position offers a dynamic work environment with numerous international interactions.

Once a system is sold by the Sales team, the Project Manager or Engineer will initiate the project, and you will provide essential support with your design expertise. Utilizing advanced drawing software, you will create precise layouts detailing the placement of equipment, considering the unique specifications of each system and vessel. You will also ensure compliance with varying laws and regulations across different countries. While experience in maritime technology is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.

  • Develop detailed electrical drawings for sold systems (2D/3D);
  • Maintain effective communication with clients regarding project developments;
  • Revise and update existing drawings;
  • Prepare installations for the workshop;
  • Create transfer protocols.

An example of your responsibilities may include designing a comprehensive drawing package for navigation and communication systems on various types of vessels for leading shipyards.

You will collaborate with a skilled team comprising 14 professionals, including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Project Support Engineers, and an Electrical Design Engineer, all reporting to the Manager of Installation & Engineering.

Qualifications:

  • MBO 4 level diploma in Electrical Engineering;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, See Electrical, and E-Plan;
  • Strong command of both Dutch and English;
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills;
  • Strong communication abilities;
  • Detail-oriented and precise;
  • Adaptable and flexible.
