The Role
We are seeking a skilled Tender Engineer for Marine Systems to join our Proposals department. As a Tender Engineer, you will be responsible for conceptual and contract design of mechanical marine engineering systems for our state-of-the-art naval vessels. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Defining general system architectures, weight, power, and cost estimations, main ships balances, and propulsion system configurations
- Contributing to requirements analysis, drafting marine engineering specifications, and supporting subcontractor quotation processes and evaluations
- Evaluating designs against requirements and preparing corresponding reports
- Writing technical documents, contract specifications, and reports to effectively communicate complex concepts and data to customers and suppliers
- Participating in discussions with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders on technical and commercial aspects of proposed solutions
- Supporting cost evaluations provided by suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Collaborating with internal departments to optimize project outcomes
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- At least one year of relevant experience in marine engineering design concepts and practices, preferably in complex naval projects
- Excellent writing skills, able to deliver compelling text, figures, and calculations encompassing very specific technical details and specifications
- A commercial mindset to deliver viable yet attractive technical and financial forecasts and propositions
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal, and preferably also Dutch
- Willingness to travel abroad occasionally
- Excellent reference antecedents, as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure
