Job Description

Corbion is a global leader in sustainable ingredient solutions, and we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Application Scientist to join our Functional Ingredients and Solutions (FIS) business-unit, focused on our Biochemicals segment at our location in Gorinchem.

This role involves collaborating closely with business developers, customers, and the R&D team to translate customer problems into research projects. You will provide excellent technical business support and alignment between business requirements and application activities.

We pride ourselves on providing innovative, natural alternatives to synthetic ingredients while enhancing food preservation and functional systems. As a renowned fermentation powerhouse, we offer a dynamic working environment with diverse topics to handle and opportunities for growth.

In this role, you will be responsible for handling technical support questions from business development, sales & customers, transferring business-related questions into research activities, and developing new concepts/value propositions. You will also be responsible for introducing new developed concepts/value propositions to customers and supporting their implementation.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Technical support and guidance for business development, sales & customers
  • Research and development of new concepts/value propositions
  • Introduction and implementation of new concepts/value propositions
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technological area for our biochemicals segment
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical and experimental product/application development
  • Basic B2B marketing knowledge and insight into IP and patents
  • Hands-on approach and project management skills
  • Practical knowledge of Biochemicals products, functionalities, and markets
