Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled individual to take on the role of Director, Procurement for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at IFF, focusing on Raw Materials. This pivotal position involves overseeing relationships with key suppliers to ensure alignment with our business goals. The successful candidate will lead efforts to develop and maintain a competitive and cost-effective sourcing strategy for raw materials across all manufacturing facilities within the region.
The role encompasses accountability for managing raw material costs and performance, guiding strategic decisions related to commodity-based materials, and participating in category team meetings to ensure alignment with global, regional, and local business objectives. This position necessitates extensive external interactions with suppliers and a deep understanding of market dynamics and supply networks. The individual will play a crucial role in contributing to the company's overarching strategies and cost initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of regional category strategies for assigned categories and sub-categories to secure raw material supply, manage costs, and realize savings.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers in the region.
- Regularly analyze and disseminate market intelligence to support informed pricing decisions.
- Implement a disciplined strategic sourcing methodology.
- Guide the team in conducting market intelligence and analysis.
- Foster new and existing supplier partnerships to support growth through innovation and technology.
- Identify risks and establish contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
- Collaborate with team members to define optimization and continuous improvement initiatives for raw materials.
- Ensure suppliers meet quality and service KPIs through collaboration with various departments.
- Align with the Responsible Sourcing Team on supplier and ingredient risk assessments.
- Communicate IFF's Sustainability Goals to suppliers and ensure they have actionable plans to meet these targets.
- Demonstrate experience in identifying, developing, and nurturing supplier relationships.
- Engage cross-functionally with departments such as R&D, Commercial, Creation, Production, and Quality, and possess experience in matrix organizations.
- Exhibit strong communication skills in English, both written and oral, for global interactions.
- Display leadership, project management, and analytical skills.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in procurement with in-depth knowledge of key supply markets (including commodities, processing chemicals, and other ingredients).
- Experience in team management.
- Relevant supply chain experience focused on raw materials, supplier relationship management, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of business practices and financial analysis.
- Desired certifications include CPSM or SPSM in supply chain or procurement excellence.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
- A graduate degree, preferably an MBA or related fields in Supply Chain and Material Science.
