The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is seeking a highly skilled IT Officer/IT Technician to join its HCMS Team in the Information Technology Services (ITS). The appointee will work on the development and maintenance of ERP-related applications, and projects on digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze user requirements for ERP-related applications and digital transformation projects.
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-based IT systems.
  • Provide quality IT services to the University community.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and related technologies.
  • Experience in Oracle PeopleSoft HRMS and PeopleTools development.
  • Web and app programming skills, including Java Servlet, PHP, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, and UNIX Shell scripts.
  • Database programming skills, including PL/SQL, JDBC with Oracle database.
  • System integration experience, especially for Oracle PeopleSoft ERP, with REST API, JSON, etc.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodologies.
What We Offer:

The appointment will be made on a fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, commencing as soon as possible, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
