In the heart of finance, a top-notch Lead Accountant is sought to spearhead accounting operations at the European HQ.

Role Overview

The ideal candidate will oversee financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, audit support, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role reports directly to the finance director and collaborates with a team of four colleagues. With tasks being centralized, the team is poised for growth, and this Lead Accountant can contribute significantly to developing the finance function.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze variances and trends in financial data to provide insights supporting management decisions.
  • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries related to billing, payroll, bank entries, staff expenses, and accruals.
  • Ensure accurate month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany charges, allocations, and Local Tax & VAT compliance (UK, DE, IT, FR).
  • Maintain and review the general ledger to ensure accurate classification of transactions.
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing the company's annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Automate routine processes and enhance efficiencies in reporting and documentation.
  • Support the ERP system migration project.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting.
  • Experience working with multiple international entities.
  • Experience with system migrations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; French and/or German are an asset.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated between £50,000 and £60,000, inclusive of holiday allowance based on 40 hours per week. The organization offers hybrid working, travel allowance, 25 days' holiday, and fully paid pension contributions.
