Job Title: Buyer Direct Materials

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Buyer Direct Materials to join our international Procurement team in Goes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement activities for one of our key categories, overseeing the end-to-end procurement process, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies for the product category in your portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate commercial agreements, and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and control procurement costs, seeking cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or on-time delivery performance of the suppliers.
  • Lead and coordinate the tendering process for goods, evaluate proposals, and select suppliers, taking into account total cost of ownership.
  • Collaborate with QA and SHE teams to ensure that procured materials meet quality standards and agreed-upon specifications.
  • Identify potential risks in the procurement process, including single-sourced products, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Draft and review contracts, ensuring clarity of terms and conditions; coordinate with the legal department to ensure adherence to legal requirements.
  • Maintain open communication channels with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure smooth procurement processes.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a buyer.
  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective vendor relationships.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience using ERP software (preferably SAP), Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
