Job Summary

De Gruyter Brill is a leading publisher in the humanities and beyond, with a rich history dating back to 1683 and 1749. As a Financial Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our financial records.

Your Responsibilities

- Correct and complete representation of the general ledger, including charging with other entities within the group
- Manage various tasks related to monthly and annual closing
- Ensure accurate and complete third-party administration, including reconciliations and reconciliations within the general ledger
- Oversee Assets administration (TFA / IFA), including reconciliations and reconciliations within the general ledger
- Provide timely standard reports for internal and/or external parties and prepare correct VAT returns in various countries
- Coordinate project and stock administration, including necessary coordination within the organization
- Actively participate in improving and optimizing administrative work processes, including bottlenecks within the general ledger, fixed assets, projects, payment transactions, and tax returns processes

Your Profile

- Relevant educational background (MBO+ / HBO level)
- At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably within an internationally operating organization
- Solid knowledge of financial administrative processes, general ledger administrations, taxation, and annual accounts processes
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills, both spoken and written
- Stress-resistant
- Good command of the Dutch and English language, both spoken and written, is required, additional knowledge of the German language is an advantage
- Excellent command of Excel (and other Microsoft Office programs), knowledge of Unit4 financials is an advantage
