Key Responsibilities
  • Execute legal activities of medium complexity and give company-wide sound legal advices/counsels/recommendations in order to support SWIFT activities and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Undertake specific legal studies, investigate and propose guidelines so as to minimise company exposure.
  • Draft/review/recommend company contracts / to participate in negotiations / to recommend amendments to contracts worldwide for customers/suppliers/development projects/network/etc...
  • Ensure regular update of the company contracts database in order to provide management and staff with an efficient tool for the follow up of company contracts.
  • Organise direct claims procedures and internal actions to be undertaken in order to maximise services.
  • Liaise with management and staff and with customers/suppliers/lawyers/public administrations/etc...
  • Undertake administrative tasks within the department and to be an effective back-up for colleagues.
  • Maintain/develop own understanding of evolutions in relevant areas of the law including commercial and competition laws, licensing issues and telecommunication matters to identify potential impact on SWIFT operations.
  • Coach less experienced colleagues.
  • Lead risk assessments, take responsibility for a selection of controls, report on control status, and detect points of control failure.

We are seeking professionals with:

University law degree.

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in legal matters within an international financial and/or IT/telecom environment - Member of 'In house Counsel Association' or equivalent.
