Overview of the Position

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in facilitating procurement processes, possessing a robust background in Intellectual Property (IP) and Information Technology (IT). A solid understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, along with experience working with US legal frameworks, is essential.

Educational Background

A law degree from a recognized university.

Professional Experience

At least 8-10 years of legal experience in an international financial services or IT/telecommunications context, with membership in a recognized in-house counsel association or equivalent.

Areas of Expertise

Procurement, IT/IP, AI, and innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities

01. Strategically plan and implement complex legal initiatives to provide comprehensive legal guidance and recommendations across the organization, ensuring adherence to legal standards.

02. Offer legal insights for new company projects by researching specific legal challenges and providing expert opinions.

03. Draft, review, and propose modifications to company contracts, actively participating in negotiations and advising on amendments for global clients and suppliers.

04. Establish standards for company contracts and formulate legal policies and procedures.

05. Oversee and coordinate global litigation efforts in collaboration with management, staff, and external legal counsel to achieve optimal resolutions. Negotiate settlements with third parties to minimize litigation risks.

06. Engage with management, staff, clients, suppliers, and legal representatives to facilitate effective communication.

07. Manage administrative functions within the legal department and provide reliable support to the manager and colleagues.

08. Continuously enhance knowledge of relevant legal developments, including commercial and competition laws, licensing issues, and telecommunications regulations, to assess their potential impact on company operations.

09. Mentor and guide junior legal staff in their responsibilities, reviewing the work of external legal advisors.

10. Oversee risk management and control frameworks on a project basis, understanding the corporate strategic risk landscape and proposing mitigation strategies.
