About the Role

As a Quality Assurance Manager at DSM, you will be responsible for driving customer satisfaction and quality compliance at our Leeuwarden site. This involves ensuring the factory meets and exceeds industrial standards (GMP, ISO, HACCP) and passes internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish a quality plan, including quality culture, organization, and an internal and external quality audit plan, seeking approval and implementing its execution.
  • Ensure the appropriate systems (e.g., Quality Management System, FSSC22000, cGMP) are in place and maintained, aligning with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Drive organizational learning from deviations and translate deficiencies found during internal and external audits into corrective actions, monitoring their execution and escalating to the management level when necessary.
  • Set up and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and represent the site towards external parties on quality topics and issues, fostering a quality mindset that prioritizes customer needs.
  • Participate in the site management team and contribute to plant goals outlined in the yearly manufacturing plan, with a focus on leadership and participation in workstreams beyond quality.
  • Develop and shape the site Quality team to continuously improve and adapt to future needs.
  • Provide final approval for releasing products to market and raw materials for manufacturing purposes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Master's/Bachelor degree in food science, food engineering, and/or chemistry, quality management.
  • More than 10 years of experience in a role in the food/pharma/feed business or ingredients industry.
  • Proven leadership skills, good communication skills, change management skills, and organizational behavior management skills.
  • Strong experience with a systematic approach to Quality Management Systems.
  • Decisive and pragmatic with proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Absolute customer focus.
  • Proficient in Dutch and English, with other languages being an asset.

What We Offer

  • A base salary of €76,594 to €109,420 per year, including holiday allowance and 13th month.
  • Extra benefits, such as 25 holiday days, a bonus, the option to buy more holiday days with a 6% my choice budget, and much more.
