Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team at TU Delft, working on the development of AI-based algorithms for safe use in telecommunication networks. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with both TUDelft and KPN staff.

Research Challenges
  • Modeling the interaction between software components, including the interplay with the underlying physical infrastructure
  • Modeling the impact of AI on the potential "action spaces" of software components and resulting network behavior
  • Developing concepts of observability and controllability for AI-based NFs and automating telecom network management
  • Developing design guidelines for AI-based NFs and automating telecom network management to guarantee network safety and security
Requirements

We are looking for a brilliant PhD candidate with a strong interest in telecommunications, algorithms, probability theory, data science, and network science. EU citizenship is required due to project definitions.

Conditions of Employment

The PhD candidate will be offered a 4-year period of employment, with an initial 1.5-year contract and a progress assessment within 15 months. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.
