We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC-R Systems Integration Specialist to join our team at Damen Shipyards. As an integral part of our engineering department, you will be responsible for integrating heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) systems on board our ships.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with internal departments, subcontractors, statutory bodies, and owners to integrate delivered components and systems into ship designs.
- Acquire and review supplier engineering information and documentation, including mechanical drawings, schematics, calculations, and electrical diagrams.
- Update the engineering database with purchase orders, parts, meta-data, and documentation.
- Perform technical calculations for design validation and to assess subcontractors' designs.
- Supervise subcontractors to ensure all contractual obligations are met and track any deviations from contracts.
- Outsource detailed engineering work in a 3D environment and verify the output.
- Provide technical support for commissioning activities and maintain strong relationships with technical representatives of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Organize design checks, reviews, and risk analyses to ensure the required quality.
- Bachelor or Master degree in HVAC engineering or equivalent proven work experience.
- At least two years of experience with HVAC-R systems and electrical/automation matters related to HVAC-R equipment in ships, offshore, or industrial installations.
- Experience working with statutory bodies and managing third-party vendors and subcontractors.
- Proficiency in both Dutch and English, written and verbal.
- Key competencies: customer orientation, budget management, planning and quality awareness, teamwork, results orientation, flexibility, persuasiveness, initiative, and effective listening.
