EHS Specialist

Sonoco Plastics B.V. is seeking a highly skilled EHS Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the environmental system within our organization.

The EHS Officer will assist the plant team in achieving its safety goals of zero injuries and statutory compliance. The role will also support the quality assurance and quality control department in ensuring the quality of our products.

The EHS Officer will be responsible for:

• Developing and implementing environmental policies and procedures;
• Conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies;
• Investigating and reporting safety incidents;
• Providing training and support to employees on safety and environmental procedures;
• Coordinating and supporting the execution of environmental and safety actions;
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

To be successful in this role, the EHS Officer will need to have:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment;
• A MBO education in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related field;
• Knowledge of ISO standards 9001, 14001, 13485, and 14971;
• Excellent knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Fluency in Dutch and English.
