Job Opportunity

The Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at Erasmus MC is seeking a highly motivated researcher to establish a new research line in the intersection of statistics, causal inference, and machine learning. This position focuses on research, teaching, and consulting activities within the department.

Research Environment

The department is renowned for producing innovative statistical and machine-learning methods to answer clinical, epidemiological, and public health research questions. The members lead research lines in joint models for longitudinal and time-to-event data, prediction models, clinical trial methodology, and Bayesian techniques.

Qualifications and Skills

  • PhD degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to work as an independent researcher.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Experience in collaborative projects with clinical researchers is considered a plus.
  • Good social and communication skills and willingness to work with other team members.

Terms of Employment

  • A temporary position for 3 years with a maximum gross monthly salary of € 7,232,- (scale 12), depending on your level of education and relevant experience.
  • Excellent fringe benefits, including a 13th month paid out in November and an individual travel expense package.
  • Pension insurance with ABP, with the company covering approximately 2/3 of the monthly contribution.
  • Special benefits, such as an in-company physiotherapist and bicycle repairer, and access to a gym.
