RWE Offshore Development Benelux
Location: Utrecht, The Netherlands
RWE Renewables is seeking an Offshore Ecology Lead to support the Netherlands Offshore Wind Development Team. The role is primarily based in Utrecht, with regular travel across the Netherlands and Central Europe required.
The successful candidate will be a core part of the Development team, helping to support offshore wind projects through the development stages. They will take a dynamic and proactive role in supporting the Development Team in strategic environmental and ecological matters, working closely with project leads, development managers, bid managers, and other consent and environmental managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as ecology lead for upcoming Dutch and Belgian offshore wind tenders;
- Define, manage, and deliver environmental and ecological requirements to fulfill and submit winning bids on auctions criteria;
- Ensure environmental and ecological conditions are met throughout project development phases, including EIAs, applications, and bid documents;
- Provide environmental and ecological support and advice throughout the organization;
- Facilitate implementation of innovative environmental and ecological solutions in collaboration with engineering departments and external partners;
- Liaise with authorities, partners, and stakeholders related to environment and ecology.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant environmental and/or ecological discipline;
- Demonstrable competence in environment and ecology, consenting, licensing, or related fields, with experience working on offshore wind projects;
- Excellent leadership and project management skills;
- Ability to negotiate with partners and communicate complex technical issues to stakeholders;
- Good communication skills in Dutch and English.
