Location: Utrecht, Netherlands
RWE Offshore Wind is seeking a highly skilled individual to fill the role of Offshore Consent Manager. This position will play a crucial role in the organisation's permitting and compliance processes, guiding bid promises through to the execution phase and supporting specialist teams in understanding and implementing permit and legal obligations.
The successful candidate will have a good technical understanding of energy matters, permitting procedures, and the legal framework, with the ability to work closely with various experts, including legal, HSE, engineering, ecology, consultants, authorities, and external partners.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the energy transition and work on innovative solutions in offshore wind, ecology, and system integration. As a key member of a young and motivated team based in Utrecht, the Offshore Consent Manager will have the chance to grow within RWE Netherlands or worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with authorities involved in permitting and legislative processes;
- Ensure compliance with permits, standards, and procedures in the area of responsibility;
- Collaborate with joint venture partners, advising on key consenting issues;
- Conduct negotiations on consenting behalf of the business with partners, authorities, and other stakeholders;
- Monitor and anticipate consenting issues, proposing mitigation strategies;
- Apply RWE best practices and processes.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant area, such as spatial planning, renewable energy, engineering, or an equivalent qualification;
- Several years of permitting experience;
- Proven experience in consenting procedures, including management advisory;
- Knowledge of offshore environmental, spatial planning, and mining legislation;
- Familiarity with methods of reporting, project planning, organisation, and project management;
- Preferably experience in the offshore renewable energy industry;
- Fluency in the Dutch language is a prerequisite.
