Job Summary
The Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS) at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer to join our Genomics Core team.
About the Role
- Operate and maintain sophisticated scientific instruments to support core service and research in genomics and biotechnology.
- Liaise with users to coordinate service logistics and provide technical advice to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Evaluate and validate new technologies to enhance our research capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical support to researchers and students in the use of genomics and biotechnology instruments and techniques.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable data generation.
- Collaborate with research teams to design and execute experiments, and analyze data to support research objectives.
Requirements
- Master's degree or above in Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years' relevant laboratory work experience in genomics and biotechnology.
- Strong passion for science and technologies, with a commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English, with proficiency in MS Office applications.
