As a Port Engineering Consultant at Royal HaskoningDHV, you will engage in delivering innovative projects within the maritime sector, collaborating with a team of skilled professionals who share your passion for water and maritime engineering. Your expertise in mooring design and the dynamics of moored vessels will be pivotal in enhancing port operations.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this capacity, you will be instrumental in specialized projects that require a deep understanding of the behavior of moored ships in various environmental conditions, including wind, waves, and currents. Your contributions will encompass:

  • Conducting metocean assessments and designing mooring and fender systems.
  • Performing dynamic mooring analyses and numerical modeling to evaluate moored ship responses.
  • Contributing to the automation and visualization of numerical modeling processes.
  • Enhancing our innovative digital product, 'Smart Mooring', which integrates diverse data streams to optimize loading and unloading operations.

Qualifications and Skills

We seek a candidate with a robust background in port engineering, specifically in mooring design and ship behavior analysis. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree in Civil, Maritime, or Offshore Engineering, with a focus on ship dynamics.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering projects related to ship motion and mooring studies.
  • Proficiency in numerical modeling techniques and an understanding of moored and free-floating vessel dynamics.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
