Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Systems and Machinery Design Engineer to join our team at Vuyk Engineering. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and engineering marine systems for various types of vessels, including new builds and conversions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer marine systems, including fuel, water-extinguishing, cooling systems, and propulsion systems
  • Make calculations and layouts for engine rooms, including pump calculations, drive calculations, and system diagrams
  • Work according to classifications and specifications of class societies
  • Investigate and develop technology that drives the energy transition, such as alternative fuel systems and energy efficiency measures
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to ensure successful project delivery

Requirements

  • Bachelor or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a comparable field
  • At least 4 years of experience in engineering or maintenance, preferably in a similar position related to marine systems
  • Knowledge of relevant requirements from classification societies and authorities
  • Knowledge of system components, piping materials, and vessel layouts
  • Experience with developing machinery arrangements and engineering design tools
  • Knowledge of electrical systems is a plus
