We are seeking a talented and motivated PhD candidate to join our team at AMOLF, a leading research institute in the Netherlands. The successful candidate will work on a PhD project focused on metasurfaces for energy-efficient wave-based computing.
About the ProjectThe project aims to design and experimentally demonstrate metasurfaces that can perform data processing on optical signals, with a focus on image processing and feature extraction. The candidate will work on the theoretical and experimental aspects of metasurface design, optimization, and characterization.
QualificationsWe are looking for an excellent candidate with a master's degree in physics, photonics, materials science, or a related field. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in optics, electromagnetism, and materials science, as well as experience with experimental techniques and data analysis.
Work EnvironmentThe PhD position will be part of a collaborative effort involving the groups of dr. S. Rodriguez, Prof. F. Koenderink, and Prof. E. Verhagen. The successful candidate will have their home base in the group of dr. Said Rodriguez, but is expected to collaborate with all involved partners.
