Physics and Engineering Internship: Optical Simulation and Sensor Performance Optimization

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled intern to join our team in the Sensors department of the Development & Engineering sector. As a physics and engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a challenging project that involves optical simulation and sensor performance analysis.
Background InformationOur company, ASML, is a global industry leader in the development of lithography machines that are used to produce integrated circuits. Our machines use DUV or EUV light to print the chip design into a photoresistant layer that is only a few 10s of nanometers thick. To improve the performance of our machines, we are exploring new concepts for measuring the height of the wafer with around 1 nm error at ever increasing speed.
Your AssignmentAs a physics and engineering intern, you will be responsible for exploring how to optimize the Level Sensor properties, simulating and modeling the sensor performance, and determining the wafer height map with 1nm accuracy. You will be a fully integrated member of the project team and will have the opportunity to work closely with our experts in the field.
Your ProfileTo be a perfect match for this internship, you should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Maths or Engineering, be results-oriented and have a pragmatic attitude, have some experience with programming and data analysis using MATLAB and Zemax, have affinity with optics and physics, and have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).
Internship DetailsThis is an internship for 3-5 days a week with a duration of 3 to 12 months. The start date is as soon as possible. You will receive a monthly internship allowance of maximum €600 (plus a possible housing or travel allowance) and will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment.
