Freight Ocean Specialist

DP World is a leading global trade enabler, and we are seeking a dynamic Freight Ocean Specialist to join our team in Rotterdam, NL. As a Freight Ocean Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the initiatives of the Regional Freight Forwarding Operations, while driving key initiatives and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage file creation and all services associated with freight forwarding and logistics.
  • Assist with account start-up, ensuring required documentation and information are provided.
  • Monitor and audit files weekly for compliance of estimate input, profit margin setting, and timely invoicing.
  • Assist clients with day-to-day requests related to export/import documentation to ensure proper execution of transportation files.
  • Provide clients with complete sailing details to ensure proper flow of information.
  • Liaise with ocean lines to procure the best possible solutions (capacity and cost) for transportation files.
  • Liaise with DPW internal networks and external partner agents to guarantee the best possible service assistance.
  • Act quickly in emergency situations that may arise within the life of an Ocean file.
  • Network with fellow operations colleagues to ensure proper support in case of workflow overload.

Requirements:



  • Degree in logistics/supply chain or a similar discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry with a focus on ocean freight.
  • Ability to drive strong execution of initiatives, ensuring countries get things right the first time.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet various deadlines.
  • Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to analyze numbers and attention to detail.
  • Excellent command of English, and Dutch is a plus.
