Job Title: Evidence Processing Assistant

Join the International Criminal Court as an Evidence Processing Assistant and contribute to the preservation and management of evidence in support of international justice.

About the Role

The Evidence Processing Assistant will be responsible for providing evidence and information processing expertise, including completing and quality controlling metadata fields in the evidence management system. This role requires safe handling, processing, and storage of electronic, audio-visual, and hardcopy information and evidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence and information processing expertise, including completing and quality controlling metadata fields in the evidence management system.
  • Guarantee the custody of evidence and implement evidence security policies.
  • Provide planning and administrative support and implement internal procedures.
  • Act as team service delivery focal point with other Divisions, Sections, or Teams for all matters relating to evidence processing, ingestion, and information management.
  • Provide electronic information and evidence integrity and availability to all OTP core business areas.
  • Register hardcopy, electronic, and audio-visual evidence and determine best approach to implementing archival procedures.
  • Administer OTPLink and register all Art. 15 communications received by the Office, ensuring replies are sent to communicants and that the workflow is maintained.
  • Perform data validation for automatically populated fields and conduct A/V processing of evidentiary material.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in handling large amounts of items (information or evidence) for archiving purposes.
  • Demonstrated experience with criminal investigations or an international organization or in public documentation and archiving.
  • Specialised training in administrative, information management, or evidence handling is preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe evidence (hardcopy or digital, and/or audio-visual) registration, processing, and archiving.
  • Discretion, diplomacy, and confidentiality in handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the Rome Statute, ICC Rules and Regulations, proceeding in International Law, and paralegal support would be desirable.
  • Advanced organisational and communication skills, including drafting ability and knowledge of relevant office software.
Language Requirements

Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, English or French, is required. Working knowledge of the other is considered a strong asset. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish) would be considered an asset.
